Founded in 2000
Analysis based on Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety Survey

Leapfrog allows employers and consumers to research and compare hospitals that participate in the Leapfrog survey, on several patient safety and quality practices:

  1. Computerized Physician Order Entry
  2. ICU Staffing
  3. Evidence-Based Hospital Referral for High Risk Treatments
  4. High overall safe practices score (to reduce preventable medical errors)

The results are presented side-by-side for comparison between Concord Hospital, Mary Hitchcock Medical Center, Parkland Medical Center, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Other hospitals may elect to participate in the Leapfrog survey in the future, improving the information available to consumers about quality and safety practices in NH hospitals.

Value for employers

Leapfrog works to improve quality in the health care system by increasing transparency, providing incentives to hospitals to improve care and working with organizations to leverage change in the healthcare system.

Leapfrog is perhaps best known for the data produced from its voluntary survey –The Leapfrog Group Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. Through the survey, hospitals indicate whether they meet four quality and safety practices. Currently, 5 NH hospitals are participating in the survey.
